Purpose of Coaching
Coaching is a collaborative process designed to support you in identifying goals, strengthening relationships, exploring possibilities, overcoming obstacles, and taking practical steps toward positive change.
Coaching may address areas such as marriage and relationships, communication, conflict, trust, forgiveness, personal growth, life balance, decision-making, family relationships, goal setting, and other areas you would like to explore.
Depending on your needs, our work together may include coaching, mentoring, teaching, and practical relationship education. At times, I may provide information, tools, exercises, or strategies to help you better understand an area and apply what you are learning to your life or relationship.
Our work may include brainstorming, values clarification, written exercises, education, goal setting, action planning, accountability, lifestyle reflection, relationship-building exercises, and meaningful questions.
Relationship & Marriage Assessments
As part of the coaching process, I may offer relationship or marriage assessments, questionnaires, inventories, or other coaching tools.
These tools are intended to help identify strengths, challenges, patterns, areas for growth, and topics for further discussion. They may also help us establish coaching goals and measure progress over time.
These assessments are used for coaching and educational purposes and are not intended to provide a medical, psychological, or mental health diagnosis.
Coaching Is Not Therapy
Coaching, mentoring and relationship education are not therapy, counselling, mental health treatment, medical care, or treatment for substance abuse or addiction.
I do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions through coaching.
If at any time I believe that counselling, therapy, medical care, or another professional service may be more appropriate for your needs, I will discuss this with you and may recommend that you seek support from an appropriately qualified professional.
You remain responsible for your own well-being, choices, decisions, actions, and results throughout the coaching relationship.
Couples Coaching
When coaching a couple, the relationship is the primary focus of the coaching process. Both partners are encouraged to participate openly, honestly, and respectfully.
Couples coaching may include joint sessions as well as occasional individual conversations or exercises when appropriate.
Because trust and openness are important to the couples coaching process, information shared individually with me that is directly relevant to the couple's coaching goals may need to be addressed within the coaching relationship. If a sensitive matter arises, I will work with you to determine an appropriate and respectful way to bring it into the coaching conversation.
Couples coaching is not intended to determine who is right or wrong or to take sides. My role is to provide a supportive and balanced environment where both individuals have an opportunity to be heard and where the couple can work toward healthier communication, understanding, connection, and agreed-upon goals.
Each person remains responsible for their own choices, behaviour, and participation in the coaching process.
Our Coaching Relationship
Coaching works best when the client and coach communicate openly and honestly. If you are ever uncomfortable or dissatisfied with any part of the coaching process, I encourage you to bring it to my attention so we can discuss it and work toward a resolution.
While coaching is designed to support positive change and progress, no specific results or outcomes can be guaranteed.
Three-Month Coaching Commitment
Meaningful and lasting change often takes time. For this reason, clients beginning coaching with Hope For Marriage Coaching are asked to make a minimum commitment of three months.
Sessions will be scheduled at an agreed-upon frequency based on your individual or relationship needs.
At the end of the initial three months, we will review your progress, goals, and next steps together. Coaching may then continue by mutual agreement.
Confidentiality
Our coaching relationship is confidential, and information shared during coaching sessions will be treated with care and respect.
Confidentiality may be limited when disclosure is required by law or when there is a serious concern regarding the safety of the client or another person.
As part of maintaining my professional coaching credentials, coaching hours may be recorded in accordance with the requirements of the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Information recorded for credentialing purposes may include the client's name, contact information, and coaching dates/hours as required by ICF.
Sessions, Payment & Rescheduling
Coaching sessions are paid on the day of the appointment or in advance. An invoice will be provided through Wix.
